Maynooth University has access to two versions of Endnote:
EndnoteX9 (desktop version of Endnote) and Endnote Online. These can function independently but they are also companion pieces to each other and they work most effectively when used together.
For full details on downloading EndNoteX9 onto your device click here.
For Endnote Online click here.
Other tools popularly used for reference management include Refworks (limited version integrated into Library Search), and referencing for Microsoft word. You may find these helpful, although they may not be as comprehensive as our other recommended reference management products.
For formatting references immediately certain websites like Cite This For Me are popular. Such websites, while quick and easy to use, are not as reliable as the reference management products the Library recommends.
You can download and install a copy of EndNote X9 to your own device, however you will need to delete the program when you leave Maynooth University. EndNote desktop can be accessed by staff and students on their own Windows PCs/laptops via AppsAnywhere https://appsanywhere.mu.ie . Windows 10 is recommended for best results.
Download and install EndNote from Apps Anywhere (video).

The reference management products the Library recommends using are EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero. These products may take some time to get used to, but it will be worth it.
