European Network of Research Integrity Offices
- ENRIOThe European Network of Research Integrity Offices (ENRIO) brings together experts who are dealing with questions about research integrity.
31 member organisations within 23 European countries are currently joining ENRIO. Membership is open to representatives of national offices and national organisations as well as other relevant bodies or groups that support the goal of ENRIO with interests in and responsibility for matters of research integrity.

- MU Plagiarism PolicyMaynooth University considers plagiarism to be a serious academic misconduct, deserving of academic penalties. This document sets out the procedures for dealing with cases of plagiarism or suspected plagiarism in taught programmes of the University. Cases of plagiarism or suspected plagiarism in research degrees are dealt with under the Research Integrity Policy.
- MU Research Integrity PolicyAdherence to the highest standards in research is a central and critical responsibility of the National University of Ireland Maynooth and all its individual researchers. It is imperative that the integrity of the University’s research is ensured, both as an essential principle for its own sake, and also in light of the responsibility we have to the wider society that both funds and uses the University’s research. Members of the University have the responsibility to act in accord with the highest standards of integrity and to conform with all legal and University codes of practice and policies, and this research integrity policy should be interpreted in such a manner that is consistent with the university’s general commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct.
IUA Research Integrity in Ireland
- National Policy Statement on Ensuring Research Integrity in IrelandResearch integrity relates to the performance of research to the highest standards of professionalism and rigour, and to the accuracy and integrity of the research record in publications and elsewhere. It is essential that the Irish research system as a whole protects its reputation for the quality and integrity of its research activity and outputs, in order that we and our international partners may rely on those outputs to promote economic and social development and growth. Unfortunately instances of research malpractice and misconduct are increasing worldwide. Research integrity is best ensured, in so far as possible, when individual researchers, institutions and funding bodies work together to create effective processes. This should ensure that the research for which they are responsible is conducted to the highest standards, and any shortcomings in process or practice are identified and taken in hand.
These principles are captured in the National Policy Statement on Ensuring Research Integrity in Ireland, first published in 2014 and revised in 2019.

Cheating
- Cheating at UK Top Universities SoarsThe number of students caught cheating at the UK’s top universities has shot up by a third in three years, with experts warning that institutions are ignoring the problem.
