Research Cycle

Research is a dynamic process.  Using the Research Cycle in your work, allows you to focus the task of research, while also actively revising and rethinking the research questions throughout your research process.

Plan: Map out the various dimensions of your research, how will you tackle them?

Discover: Consider what possible resources you might use e.g. primary/secondary sources, journal articles, legislative websites, newspaper articles.

Gather: Find these resources or seek library help to locate them. Apply a search strategy.
When planning your search strategy its important to:

Read and understand the context around your research question
Identify key concepts, themes and keywords/synonyms
Think about scope and currency
Record your search strategies to avoid duplicate searches.
Evaluate:  Consider these resources critically. Are there any gaps?

Document: Make note of the bibliographic details of the resources you have found.

Disseminate your Publications and track their impact
