Click & Collect and Digital on Demand

Click & Collect

Standard Loans and Week Loans can be requested below. 1 and 2 Day Loan items can be checked out at our self-service kiosks in the Library.

Once this request has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email outlining collection times. Items will be available for collection at the Admission Desk and will be held for a maximum of 3 days.

Digital on Demand

This is a library material digitisation request.

This service is free of charge and available for staff and postgraduate students (Research and Taught).

Recalls, Overdues & Fines

In order to ensure that as many library users as possible have access to library material, users are encouraged to return items on time.  All library material on loan may be recalled by the Library at any time. Please note that you may be required to return the item sooner than the original due date. If the item is not returned on the revised due date, it becomes overdue and a fine will apply. The Library will send you an overdue notice via your university e-mail address.

Fines

  • 1 & 2 Day Loans - €2.00 per day
  • Laptops and Theses (3-hour loans) - €1.00 per hour

Fines will not be charged on overdue Standard Loans nor on overdue Week Loans unless they are requested/recalled and then not returned after the new due date.

After the new due date, a daily fine will be charged at the following rate:

  • Week Loans - €2.00 per day on overdue recalled items
  • Standard Loans - €1.00 per day on overdue recalled items

If you fail to return any overdue items they will be “Declared Lost” upon the issue of a third and final overdue notice and a minimum replacement copy charge of €30.00 will be applied to the borrower account.

If you have a fine of more than €10 on your account, you will be unable to borrow. Fines can be paid by debit or credit card at the Information desk.

Borrowing & Returning

Most items are available for loan for a three-week period, known as a standard loan. More heavily used items are restricted to one-week loans (orange tag), two-day loans (green tag) or one-day loans (blue tag). Week and day loans are identified by labels while standard loans have no label. The table below lists how many items can be borrowed from each loan type, by category of student.
