Open Access Publishing Agreements

Taylor & Francis

This guide provides details of open access agreements with publishers facilitated by IReL (Irish Research eLibrary) which typically allow corresponding authors from eligible institutions to publish their articles open access immediately on publication.

Taylor & Francis

Agreement period:

1 January 2024 - 31 December 2026

Agreement details
The open access publishing agreement with Taylor and Francis allows corresponding authors from Maynooth University make their articles accepted for publication in eligible T&F journals open access without the author paying an article processing charge (APC).

Note: It is projected that our APC allocation will run out in early September 2024. Once this occurs, IReL-funded OA will not be offered to authors for the rest of 2024.

Eligible journals:

All T&F Open Select journals (hybrid journals).
For a full list of the journals available for OA publishing under IReL deals, see: http://bit.ly/irelOAjournal

Eligible authors:

The corresponding author must be a current staff member or student of a participating institution at the time the accepted article enters production. The corresponding author must ensure their correct affiliation details are known to the publisher at this time.
Text in T&F’s author workflows may give the impression that authors will be billed for the APC if they choose OA and are rejected for IReL APC funding. This will not happen: if rejected, authors will be offered a choice (paying the APC from their own funds, or publishing the article on a subscription access at no cost). T&F author workflow: for hybrid journals

Eligible article types:

Article, Review, Research Article, Review Article, Report, Short Communication, Case Report, Note, Original Article, Guest Editorial.
